Belief

  1. Unbelief is also a belief.
  2. No understanding is required in belief. A belief is believed on authority and for comfort in the crowd. Understanding is, indeed, necessary for unbelief to know reasons for non-belief.
  3. Unbelief creates loneliness in the wasteland of nothingness.
  4. Greatness of character is an emotional appeal and not a reason for belief.
  5. Pragmatic persons believe to keep the good opinion of society.
  6. Belief in superstition arises from the fear or fascination of the unknown or uncommon and is assuaged by resort to weird or esoteric chants and rituals.
  7. If you define God, you deny him. Belief is a leap of faith hook, line and sinker.
  8. Belief is surrender to the fear of unknown to err on the side of caution.
  9. Science is expansion of knowledge and contraction of belief.
  10. Belief is the rejection of doubt to induce conviction.
  11. Belief of the Eastern mystics that everything basically emanated from one is now a serious proposition of astronomy. Its theory of Big Bang states that the cosmos, time and space expanded instantaneously in an infinitesimal fraction of a second from the singularity of a super massive black hole.

About Rasheed Akhund

In every family, if one is lucky, there appears a figure so marvellously singular, so steeped in wisdom and warmth that he becomes a sort of personal North Star. Rasheed Ahmed Akhund was such a man; measured, principled and enigmatic. A man who, like the best of us, lived not for show but for substance. He belonged to a dwindling class of men who thought deeply, spoke sparingly and forgave quietly.

“A person cannot say that reality is above human comprehension because, being human, he cannot know that there is anything above his comprehension"

- on Philosophy

“lf you attempt to prove existence of God with cold logic, you will land him in contradictions. If you feel him warmly, he is universal love and sense of perfection.”
