Children
- You love your children without judging them, because you take pride in them. Your children will not love you without judging you, because they take pride in themselves .
- Children’s excitement in play is a spectacle of joy of living, which recurs to the adults in receding flashbacks with the passage of time.
- Children are a joy, pure and simple, so long they are young. After they grow up and mature, they start pointing out your weaknesses. And they are still a joy, pure, but no longer simple .
- In childhood, you see life in wonder; in youth, you find it alluring; in middle age, you think it is promising and in old age, you know it is time to let go.
- Loving parents inspire their children to love.
- When fate wishes to spoil our progeny, it makes us rich.
- In childhood, reality is more real and keenly felt, since a child responds candidly with sensitivity. Everything looks new, wonderous or frightful. Logic or restraint do not impress. In growing, we learn to be sensible and forbearing but reality becomes routine and dull.
- A good parent is a friend of her child, who respects her.
- A child’s education begins with her parent’s learning.
- It is natural to love one’s children but cultural to cherish one’s parents.

About Rasheed Akhund
In every family, if one is lucky, there appears a figure so marvellously singular, so steeped in wisdom and warmth that he becomes a sort of personal North Star. Rasheed Ahmed Akhund was such a man; measured, principled and enigmatic. A man who, like the best of us, lived not for show but for substance. He belonged to a dwindling class of men who thought deeply, spoke sparingly and forgave quietly.
Subjects
“A person cannot say that reality is above human comprehension because, being human, he cannot know that there is anything above his comprehension"
- on Philosophy
“lf you attempt to prove existence of God with cold logic, you will land him in contradictions. If you feel him warmly, he is universal love and sense of perfection.”
