book of aphorisms by a Pakistani lawyer
Courage
- The more you mature in self-respect, the more courage you acquire to look straight into the eyes or an arrogant person, whose only distinction is his power of position or money.
- Courage is the will to face danger despite fear.
- Courage is to feel the bitterness of fear in the mouth and the dryness of hesitation in the throat and with determination and pounding heart to encounter hostile odds to overcome them.
- Unless you try, you will never know the extent of your courage.
- A secluded and peaceful life is possible with the realization that you like loneliness and have the courage to avoid temptations and defy cherished prejudices of your society.
- It requires audacious courage to keep one’s objectivity intact among the prejudiced and the fanatics.
- Courage is to know your capacity to encounter danger without recklessness.
- Carefulness to avoid improbable odds is as essential as courage to dare with calculation for success. Luck still plays a part as a vicissitude, however cautious or dauntless one may be.
- Danger breeds courage to confront in some. Most of the endangered simply bolt.
- There is no freedom for the coward.
- Reckless courage is as harmful as frighted caution is paralyzing. The former causes a frenzy of incordinated action and the latter creates panic of inaction .

About Rasheed Akhund
In every family, if one is lucky, there appears a figure so marvellously singular, so steeped in wisdom and warmth that he becomes a sort of personal North Star. Rasheed Ahmed Akhund was such a man; measured, principled and enigmatic. A man who, like the best of us, lived not for show but for substance. He belonged to a dwindling class of men who thought deeply, spoke sparingly and forgave quietly.

“A person cannot say that reality is above human comprehension because, being human, he cannot know that there is anything above his comprehension"

“lf you attempt to prove existence of God with cold logic, you will land him in contradictions. If you feel him warmly, he is universal love and sense of perfection.”
