  1. Gossip is all the more p1easing to hear that others have worse faults than we have.
  2. Gossip is de1icious sauce at the dinner table.
  3. Rumour can be innocuous. Gossip hurts reputation surreptitiously.
  4. A gossip is exciting, because it exposes someone e1se’s weaknesses.
  5. Gossip raises its idle head, whenever an unconcerned person asks the question “What happened?”
  6. People like to gossip about others, but hate to be gossiped about themselves.
  7. The viciousness of gossip is that anything notorious is easily believed about any man and anything infamous is readily accepted about any woman.
  8. People like gossip, because it makes them congenial in each other’s company to malign others .
  9. If you are a good listener of gossip and keep your mouth shut, you will come to know everybody’s secrets.
